In a nutshell
We don't collect your data. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-less, consent-less page-view counter that stores no personal data and does not track you across sites. We earn money through Amazon, Sunstore and Octopus Energy affiliate links -- you pay the same price, we get a small commission if you buy.

This does not affect the price you pay or our editorial independence. We only recommend products we genuinely believe are worth your money. Amazon links on this site use the tag diysolaruk-21 and carry rel="nofollow sponsored" attributes as required by Amazon's Operating Agreement.
Privacy
This website does not collect, store, or process any personal data. Here's exactly what that means:

| Affiliate link clicks | When you click an outbound Amazon, Sunstore or Octopus Energy link, your browser sends a single anonymous beacon recording that a click happened (e.g. "someone clicked an Amazon link"), with no personal data attached, so we know which links are useful. |
| User accounts | There are none. You can't log in, and we don't store any information about you. |
| Newsletter form | The email checklist sign-up on our grants page collects only your email address, used to send the checklist and occasional grant-deadline updates. No spam, unsubscribe anytime. |
| Get-quotes form | The installer quote form on /get-quotes.html collects your postcode, property type, roof or ground mount, timeline, and an email or phone number. We use this only to handle your enquiry and help you get installer quotes. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell or share it for anything else. The form is handled by Formspree; see Formspree's privacy policy for how they process form submissions on our behalf. |

Get-quotes form: what happens to your data
If you use the installer quote form, here's exactly what happens under UK GDPR terms:
- Purpose: your postcode, property type, mounting preference, timeline, and contact details are collected for one named purpose only - handling your enquiry so we can help you get installer quotes.
- Minimal data: we only ask for what's needed to route a sensible enquiry. We don't ask for your address, your energy bills, or anything beyond the five fields on the form.
- Who sees it: right now, enquiries reach us directly; we do not currently have a live automated hand-off to an installer-matching network. If that changes, this page will be updated to name the network before any handoff goes live.
- Retention: we keep enquiries only as long as needed to follow them up, then delete them.
- Your rights: email diysolaruk@gmail.com to see, correct, or delete any details you've submitted.
